The feeling of joy when I see colors of blue, red, and white
Along with the star,
With smiles and laughter,

Bailando a una noche
As my heart is filled with love for the people around me
I can’t help but think I never want to lose this feeling
Arms wide open and a big smile across my grandmothers face,
I look at her and think to myself,
Esta mujer es muy fuerte y gracias por tus poderosas palabras,
Be who you are, always keep your head up high
Standing besides me, my mother looks at me with tears in her eyes and her cheeks rise,
As she takes my hand she tells me,” Be who you are in life!”
Those words start to hold a dear place in my heart
Taking in the moments, holding onto the words that have been passing down
As I watch everyone in the room with the energy so bright,
The music flows around the room,
In silence, I stand with inspiration in my heart,
Through strength and courage,
Passing down the wisdom to carry on to the next,
Never be afraid of being who you are,
Forever and always
I am who I am!
